Valve Reconstruction

  • Take antibiotics and blood thinners as directed.
  • Contact your family physician next day after discharge and make arrangements to monitor your blood thinners.
  • It is important to be active and work the operated leg; resume your normal daily activity immediately. This improves venous circulation and reduces the chance of blood clots.
  • You can take off the dressing and bathe in a tub or shower as soon as you go home. Use soap and water on the incision and dry.
  • Set-up appointment to see Dr. Raju in 6 weeks or sooner if problem develops.
